Applications for 2009 Show are CLOSED!

WHEW! It's been a crazy couple of weeks here in the land of The Lone Star Ladies.

We got lots of fabulous applications from artists of all kinds - jewelry, purses, clothing, art and more. Allison and I had a great time going over all of the applications and selecting our vendors for TBLP: Shop Austin 2009.

Accepted vendors will be notified on January 15th! We are always accepting email inquiries about our show and are happy to add anyone who missed the deadline to our list for the next The Lone Star Ladies Present: Shop Austin.

Stay tuned for a public announcement of the featured artists in early February!

Artist Applications Close in Less Than 1 Week!

Hello interested artists! We wanted to remind you that the application closes next Monday - December 22nd, at midnight.

As a special Thank You to those that have already applied, and those of you who still want to apply, we will credit $10.00 of your application fee towards your booth fee if accepted as a vendor.

We're still looking for vendors - especially in the areas of pottery/ceramics, mixed media art, bath & body products, and food. If you know of anyone who might be interested in applying for our show - please send them our way! We have gotten lots of fabulous applications so far.

Our focus is to showcase Austin and Texas artisans. However, we are considering opening up a second round of applications in January that would be open to artists nationwide. We are open to hosting up to 20% of our vendors from out of Texas. If you don't want to lose your spot to someone from out of State - apply now!

Promoting fabulous artisans is our #1 priority! The early application allows us plenty of time to feature everyone on the website, blog and in posters, media ads and press releases. Your application fee and booth fees will fund our large marketing budget - help us promote you!

Booth Pictures

As many of you know, we are requiring booth pictures for our application process. We get many requests to "waive or make an exception" to this requirement.

Our request is not about receiving the "wow-factor" booth pictures from artists who are up-and-coming. There was a time when my sister, Anne Marie, did not have a booth picture for her GORGEOUS purses as she had never done a show before either, so we understand the quandary some of you might feel.

But, we really want to see what you got - set up a mock "booth" on your kitchen table, arrange that jewelry, kids' wear and great smelling soap for us to check it out and see how it looks outside of a close-up product shot. Booth display pictures do not require sides and tops or tents, nor do they require a fancy set-up with racks, signs, expensive display pieces and lights - they just require a willingness to go play around with your product and see how you might like it displayed.

If you are a seasoned artist without booth pictures, we hope this encourages you to take some pictures of your great handmade products on display!

There is still time for pictures as our application process does not end until December 22, 2008...but don't let it sneak up on you and wait until the last minute!
