Sponsor Spotlight - Seriously Funny

One of the great benefits of producing Shop Austin is working with great sponsors, and The Onion is definitely one of the best!  As a media sponsor, they are one of our "extra!extra!" Sponsors.  Tagged as America's Finest News Source, they offer up satirical news that is thriving to the tune of over 400,000 subscribers, best-selling books, and a Peabody Award for the Onion News Network.

The Onion started over 21 years ago in Madison, Wisconsin, when two University of Wisconsin students discovered small-town satire was popular, very popular.  They hit the big city of Manhattan several years later and the rest is history!  They are so popular that Nightline, the usually very serious news show from ABC late night, featured them: The Onion: Reporters of Funny.
