Vendor View with Adaptive Reuse and Fleegal Farms

Christine Terrell of adaptive reuse and Elly Fleegal of Fleegal Farms are two shining examples of using environmentally sustainable and eco-conscious materials for their finely crafted products, and both give back to the Austin Art Community.  Christine and Elly were both participants in the Little Artist - Big Artist program with the Cherrywood Art Fair in 2009.  We've paired them together in what is sure to be an eye-catching and great smelling booth!

Jewelry is one of those categories that make it practically impossible to select unique artists for a show like Shop Austin.  We get many more applicants than we have spaces, and only the best and most creative are chosen.  adaptive reuse is one of the most unique jewelry lines we have seen; Christine continues to update her look and style, while creating innovative designs that keep the pulse of the fine craft and fashion scene in mind.  We're honored to have her as a returning vendor for Shop Austin 2010!

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?  I create modern designs using old, non-traditional materials.

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?  I LOVE thrift stores!

What boutiques or stores carry your products? Austin Museum of Art Gift Shop, Women and their Work Gallery, Creatures Boutique.

**************

Fleegal Farms is a family owned business, and a very successful one I might add!  Allison and I grew up in "old Austin" - and our parents made it a priority for us to eat at only family-owned restaurants, shop at the small hardware stores, attend craft shows, and buy fruit and vegetables from farmers in a truck on a country road (long before all the Farmer's Markets were around Austin).  It's important to us at The Lone Star Ladies that we continue this tradition of Shopping Local.  When you support your local artists - you're supporting their family, their dreams, and your community!

Tell us about your Products: We make100% natural Soap and skin care made from raw natural and organic ingredients. Our line includes a range of products from face and body soaps to creams and sugar scrubs to suit any skin type.
What boutiques or stores carry your products?  The Herb Bar, Crystal Works, Not Just Mail, The Oasis Gift Shop, The Pure Water Stop, and
People's Pharmacy.

Impressed yet?  We sure are!  Be sure to get in line for one of our amazing Goodie Bags - Elly Fleegal is donating a bar of soap to each one!

xo, Anne Marie
