Vendor View with Debbie Carrol Designs and Jessica Pierre'auguste

Debbie Carroll Designs and Jessica Pierre'auguste, two Shop Austin Vendors,  will give you something to wear and something for your home this year at Shop Austin 2010!

Debbie Carroll Designs is a returning vendor to Shop Austin, and for good reason!  Her jewelry is one-of-a-kind, limited edition.  She uses vintage beads and findings, combining them with semi-precious stones, metals, pearls and contemporary finds.  Jewelry is one the of HARDEST categories to get into for Shop Austin, and we think Debbie Carroll is very deserving!

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
Vintage is very Austin and I like to reuse & repurpose when I can!

Who is your biggest inspiration?
Georgia O'Keefe - groundbreaking artist AND woman for her time! (Debbie, she is my favorite artist, too!).

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
Love to go stroll all the shops on South Congress and hit the vintage and thrift stores on Burnet Road. Some favorites - Uncommon Objects & Amelia's Retro Vogue.

Jessica Pierre ' auguste is a new vendor to Shop Austin and her bio reads, "I am a graphic designer,  painter, serigrapher, and photographer."  Jessica creates canvas paintings and paintings on reclaimed wood, using acrylics, beads, thread, found objects and more on her pieces.  She also screen prints on paper and creates fabric wall hangings.   You can always find her at First Thursdays on SoCo!

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
Many of my pieces are inspired by the nature in and around the Austin area.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
Other Austin artists that I see having success in the art culture here.

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
I really enjoy going to the Zilker Hillside Theatre each August with my family.

Their table is one you don't want to miss on 4/17/2010 - stop by and get something for your home and something to wear!

XO,
allison
