Vendor View with Kandle Kidswear and designs by lanese

Babies and kids everywhere and all the accouterments to go with... onesies, T-shirts, puppets, blocks and more!  I must be speaking of the Kandle Kidswear and designs by lanese table at Shop Austin!

Kandle Kidswear was started in 207 by two great friends and busy mamas.  Laura Dooley and Kim Rodriguez have been sewing strong ever since with original felt designs on 100% organic cotton onesies and T-shirts.  Their felt is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles and is solution dyed, which means it is safe for our water system.

We have several Austin-centric designs, including our Little Longhorn, our Austin Bat, and our Guitartown, Texas design. We've gotten so much support from local retailers and feel fortunate to be living and working in such a creative community.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
Our children are our biggest inspiration! Max, Kim's son, is 4; Laura's son William is 7 and daughter Kathryn is 5.

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
We love to play with our kids at Zilker Park, enjoy burgers at Billy's on Burnet, and hear live music at the Continental Club.

**********

Lanese Bush started designs by lanese in 2004, and she creates adorable fleece hand puppets, primarily featuring baby wild animals, and soft fleece alphabet blocks with appliques featuring words that start with the letter pictured on the front face of each block.

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
Puppets! Ever since I started making and selling my puppets, I have found that they are the greatest way to overcome language, culture, and age barriers! Puppets make people smile!

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is my little niece, Dailyn.

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
Kerby Lane!

Both designs by lanese and Kandle Kidswear are returning vendors to Shop Austin this year and we can't wait to see them again!

XO,
allison
