Jenifer Bryan started Lucy Blue Studio in 2006, and has quickly made a name for herself in the Austin Craft Community. She takes her original illustrations and photographs, and makes them into a wide variety of accessories - including pendants, rings, business card cases, belt buckles and cuff links. Jenifer is also one of the founders of The WonderCraft, and teaches classes on some of her amazing techniques - like resin coating and casting!
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My grandmother. She eats, breathes, lives crafty. She grew up during the depression so if she didn't reuse or make it herself she didn't have it. It is amazing what she can do with limited resources. What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
Sounds cliche, but hanging out at the Alamo Drafthouse. It was one of the first things I was taken to when I moved to Austin and it has always been the first the thing I recommend other Austin newbies to do.

In 2008, Kristen Pumphrey started Pommes Frites. She makes hand-carved hollow books (for flasks, cash or other secret items), candles made with soy wax & re-purposed glass, and pins & magnets made from encyclopedia images and plaid fabric. All items are reclaimed, re-purposed & handmade with love! Her unique flasks have been featured on a ton of cool blogs and and continue to create memorable gift-opening scenes all over the world!
What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
One thing that makes my products "Austin" is my commitment to keeping waste to a minimum. Instead of using new materials, I repurpose existing items into something fresh, giving each item a new life.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
