Leslie Bonnell is a goddess... that's what a friend of mine said the other day, and she couldn't be more apt in her description! As the proprietor of The Stitch Lab, Leslie offers inspiration to aspiring seamstresses, crafters, artists and small business owners with her variety of classes. She will be showcasing some of her own delightful creations at Shop Austin 2010, including her new pincushions made out of vintage vessels, felt and vintage figurines.

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
I don't think my work is particularly regional in flavor, but I do know that this town has been so supportive and nurturing to my work, it's hard to think of doing it anywhere else.
What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
Vespaio all the way. Town Lake dog park w/Louis and Ron. Uncommon Objects is always a delight--South Congress shops in general!

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
Milli Starr designs are more reflective of the "new" Austin rather than the Austin of the "slacker" era. The city has quickly become a young, hip metropolis with a demographic who actively seeks unique luxuries, from food to architecture to fashion. There is a deep appreciation and desire for high style and individuality - and a hand-blocked hat is the perfect expression of both.
We couldn't agree more! Shoppers are sure to be delighted with the work of both talented ladies at The Lone Star Ladies Present: Shop Austin 2010!
