Vendor View with Ape-Gear and DreamStar Creations

Ape-Gear and DreamStar Creations are both new vendors to Shop Austin 2010, and shoppers stopping by their individual booths will find a wide array of handmade art to choose from!

Ape-Gear was started in 2006 by John Mosteller and all the artwork and designs are original.  He offers art for your walls; comics with bonus CD including animations, music and a mini flash video game; pillows with a wild colorful design on the front and a soft black velvet back (removable to wash) and plushies by the names of Jefe, Bradlee, Oki, Hayley, Cooper and Eyera.

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
I am an orignal artist from Austin Texas and I have been in several art shows/exhibits as well as several crafts shows. I teach silkscreening at AMOA and give art demos at Jerry's Artarama ... (basically everything I do and create oozes Austin TX!)

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My wife, friends, family, and living in Austin.

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?

I love me some Chuy's!!

**********

Dreamstar Creations from Robbie Jenkins includes pieces of art that are wax/resin collages, mixed media vintage photography, handmade papers, natural flowers, bark, metals with encaustic painting on canvas and wood panels,  and mixed media metals with 2D and 3D pieces made of vintage church shingles, ceiling tins, vintage dresser pulls, doll parts and more!

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
My pieces are all eco friendly with original Texas Vintage objects embracing the spirit of Austin and as the state of Texas that envoke imagination.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My children - young children have the unique ablility to dream without limits.

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
To be yourself - the city emulates self expression. My favorite thing to do in Austin is just to be and enjoy.

We think you will enjoy both of their booths - so save the date - April 17th!

XO,
allison
