Vendor View with Coral Reef Dreams and Soy Delites

Jewelry and candles, candles and jewelry - which is your favorite?  You will be able to find both at Shop Austin 2010 on April 17th and Coral Reef Dreams and Soy Delites will do just that - they will both make all your "jewelry dreams" and "candle delites" come true!

Pauline Walsh Jacobson of Coral Reef Dreams creates ocean and nature inspired handmade wire artisan jewelry, that is one-of-a-kind designs, featuring precious metals, gemstones, art glass, freshwater pearls, sea glass and beach finds.  She is also a returning vendor to Shop Austin and we are delighted to have her back!

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
I was born in Texas and have lived there all of my life, and I have lived in Austin since 1973. All of my jewelry is completely handmade by me in my studio here in Austin.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
The Wire Artisan Guild

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
I love arts and crafts fairs and festivals. I have been attending the Old Pecan Street Festival every year since I have been in Austin. In 2003 I began selling my art there and have participated every spring and fall since then. My husband and I love to eat at Z-Tejas, Corazon Castle Hill and Zocalo, all of which are located in our Old West Austin neighborhood.

Soy Delites from Christy Bell features 100% soy wax candles handmade in Austin, TX.  Christy is a new vendor to Shop Austin and we can't wait for her candles to light up our show!

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
We are a home-based business in Austin and I hand pour all our candles.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
On a personal level (and in many ways a business level too!), my kids.

List any press coverage:

I've been on KXAN's morning show, KVUE's 4 pm news, was featured in KVUE's "Go Green" series, Austin Monthly Home Magazine, a few other magazines, and lots of online blogshttp://www.soydelites.com/press.html

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
First Thursday (people watching is stellar!) We love Amy's ice cream, and riding the Zilker Zephyr. Yep, my life centers around my kids right now!

We are glad Christy finds some time to create those beautiful candles and know you will enjoy her booth at Shop Austin!

XO,
allison
