Vendor View with Leslie DeShane and Karin Gerstenhaber

This year Shop Austin has a fabulous...fabulous (did I say fabulous!?) selection of art vendors and Leslie De Shane and Karin Gerstenhaber are two of the reasons why!

Leslie De Shane creates mixed media originals, as well as affordable, quality prints and some art pieces are reproduced in glass as well.

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
I am an Austin resident since the early 70s who really loves her town. My artwork is spiritual and funky and full of bright colors alot like Austin.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
God

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
My whole family lives here so we do many Austin things...the symphony, rugby at Zilker, Zilker Gardens all year long, Mexican food at Reynas on 1st., funky shops on S. Congress, the Settlement Home garage sale at Palmer, boating on Lake Travis...too much to list really.

Karin Gerstenhaber creates beautiful mosaics - picture frames, small items on tiles, 3-D pieces and some hanging pieces as well.

What makes your products uniquely "Austin"?
Each piece is one of a kind and most of them are quite colorful, just like Austin

Who is your biggest inspiration?
Sonia King, successful, Dallas-based mosaic artist and instructor, www.mosaicworks.com

What is your favorite "Austin" thing to do, or restaurant to eat at, or place to go?
Stroll and shop on both ends of Congress Avenue, especially because you can find my work at Authenticity Gallery on Congress!

Anne Marie and I think you will enjoy these two new-to-Shop-Austin and Up-and-Coming-Artists on Saturday April 17th - save the date!

XO,
allison
